The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of Marquette General Hospital provides intensive care for premature and/or sick infants.  The unit has a staff neonatologist and a team of nurses specially trained to take care of these very special little ones.  Our staff can also travel anywhere in the Upper Peninsula with an EMS ambulance to transport very sick infants to MGH for treatment.

Regional Perinatal Outreach Program for the Upper Peninsula

Regional Perinatal Outreach
The MGH Women's & Children's Center Perinatal Outreach Program works with Upper Peninsula's community hospitals to provide perinatal education for physicians and nurses, keeping them abreast of current information regarding high-risk perinatal care. Physician lectures and presentations on a variety of perinatal issues are available for physician and staff groups. Specific staff training on issues such as emergency deliveries, newborn stabilization, and neonatal transports, is also available. CME credit is offered for most of the programs.
For more information, contact Kris Smith, RN, Regional Perinatal Coordinator,
at 1-800-562-9753, Ext. 3247.

Video teleconferencing
Many of the perinatal outreach programs, including physician lectures and staff training, are available via teleconferencing. In addition, parent, physician, and ancillary service consultations in the Specialty Clinics and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit can be performed by teleconference. If you would like to utilize this service for a program or consultation (or another specific need), feel free to contact Kris Smith at 1-800-562-9753, Ext. 3247.
